According to the Pennsylvania Cancer Control, Prevention and Research Advisory Board (CAB) Cancer Burden Report, August 2019, Pennsylvania’s cervical cancer incidence and mortality rates have decreased among Pennsylvania women between 2000 and 2016. Cervical cancer trends in the state continue to reveal significant disparities among underserved populations.
The CDC states that almost all cervical cancer is caused by Human Papilloma Virus or HPV. The CAB, Pennsylvania Cancer Coalition (PCC) and myriad stakeholders across Pennsylvania continue to work diligently to further decrease cervical cancer incidence in the state.
