February is National Cancer Prevention Month

February is National Cancer Prevention Month, a great time to share tips for reducing cancer and providing screening messages.  It’s also Black History Month which offers an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of the Black community to health and wellness.

African Americans and Blacks have the highest death rate and shortest survival of any racial and ethnic group in the United States for most cancers. Reducing cancer disparities by race and ethnicity is an important goal for coalition partners.  Check out resources available from the American Cancer Society Cancer Facts and Figures for African Americans 2019-2021
